A new WWCC system was introduced through legislation in 2013 requiring people in child related work to have a WWCC clearance. A transition period of up to five years was established to allow different sections of the community to phase-in to the new WWCC system. All employees in the educational field must have a WWCC. Currently any volunteers working with children in Department of Education schools must, at a minimum ,have a Working with Children Check – Declaration for volunteers and contractors. This is a declaration form completed by volunteers, with proof of identity. These forms can be collected at our front office.
In 2017 ALL people working with children – regardless of being an employee or volunteer will have to have completed the WWCC and receive a specific approval number before they will be able to work, in any capacity with children. Volunteers DO NOT have to pay the $80 registration fee and taken to any Department of Services NSW for processing. This can be done now instead of waiting until 2017.
Our school relies heavily on our fabulous team of volunteers to ensure we can offer many extra-curricula activities to our students. Please help us by completing the WWCC so you can continue to volunteer at our school.
